The RCES certification exam is a three-hour timed, computerized exam with 170 multiple-choice questions. Only 150 items are scored, and 20 are used as pretest items to gather statistical data for future use. Each CCI examination, including individual items, contains an option where a candidate is allowed to make comments pertaining to the exam item and/or the examination as a whole. These comments are reviewed by the appropriate examination committee throughout the year.
