Students who are studying to become dental hygienists, radiology techs, etc., must also take the HESI exam to move forward with their program. Each program has different requirements, but one section of the HESI that is guaranteed to be mandatory for nursing schools is the HESI Anatomy and Physiology section.

How do you convert a HESI score?
HESI Score Conversion
The 1500-point scale is converted into a 100-point scale by comparing the overall difficulty of the exam with the average difficulty of the questions an individual candidate has answered. The cumulative converted score is an average of the converted score for each section of the exam.
The exam is scored on a percentage scale from 0% to 100%. As such, they adjust each raw score based on the difficulty of the question. This test relates to how well you are expected to do on your NCLEX, and it comes with some confusing scoring known as the conversion score. HESI Admission Assessment (HESI A

Current LPN applicants and transfer applicants seeking admission into block three or block four must achieve a score of 850 or higher to be considered for entrance into the program. Most nursing schools require that students take the HESI before graduation to ensure they are ready to take the NCLEX. The HESI Specialty Exam Psychology & Mental Health is a Nursing program exam. In order to waive this required course, the applicant must score 850 or higher.
