Not-for-profit agency, ACM Care (Autonomous Case Management of St Louis, Inc.) began in 1999 after co-founder and Registered Nurse, Julie Hess, witnessed too many older patients in hospitals without the support of family. With no one to advocate for their care, they were often told by medical professionals that they had no choice but to be admitted to a nursing home. All applicants must have 1 year (2,080 hours) of full-time, supervised paid work experience in a healthcare delivery system as a case manager or a role that falls within the scope of Services and Standards of Practice of a case manager.
