Additionally, many EPPP practice tests have a section explaining the answer choices.
This computerized exam, developed by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), consists of 225 multiple-choice questions. You have four hours and 15 minutes to complete the test, and you need to correctly answer about 70 percent of the questions to receive a passing score of 500, according to ASPPB. The total number of correct responses determines your score, so it’s in your favor to guess if you don’t know the answer. The exam fee is $450, though some states charge additional administrative fees.
The EPPP is NOT their focus; it’s just another subject in their catalog of products. Their test taking tips and strategies are “one-size-fits-all” strategies that are so general as to barely be helpful. We have designed a Training Process that is battle tested and proven effective to work specifically for the EPPP. If your state requires Part 2, you can take it after passing Part 1.
If you want to know more about the exam and how to sign up, check out the Information for Candidates handbook on the ASPPB website (). If you’re looking for information about registering for the exam, Pearson VUE is in charge of administering the EPPP. To register for the EPPP, you must first apply for licensure to the licensing board or authority in your state, province, or territory.

ASPPB recommends waiting 90 days to ensure you have enough time to study and pass. Each individual licensing board will mail examination results to individuals, though some may elect to display scores online. Scores are sent to each individual licensing authority twice monthly and will be available within six business days following the 15th day of the month and the last day of the month.
You most likely don’t have a problem understanding the material (even if you feel this IS your problem). Because you’ve gotten this far; you’ve completed a doctorate in psychology! Your program and school have determined that you know the material with sufficient proficiency to grant you a degree, the HIGHEST degree, a doctorate. If you’re determined to be a part of the 76% who pass the EPPP after their first attempt, keep reading to learn which of the EPPP test preparation courses works best for you. Spend more time studying your weaker topics, but remember to review your strongest ones before the exam, too. The EPPP helps states determine whether aspiring psychologists are qualified to practice on their own.

I actually wish the explanations were a little more detailed and the bank had more than just 500questions because I got through them and zeroed out of them pretty quickly. The Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology is the final step to becoming a licensed psychologist. The standardized exam tests candidates’ knowledge and skills in psychology. Every question will be followed by four possible responses, and there will be one and only one correct answer for every question. During the test, each individual will be reminded that they have an ethical and legal duty not to divulge any content displayed as part of the EPPP.
Each individual licensing board may take a different amount of time in actually reporting scores to individuals. Additional practice questions, along with well-honed test-taking strategies, further facilitate exam success. The EPPP exam is challenging, but don’t worry, you’re not alone.
There are 225 multiple-choice questions on the first part of the exam, and there are 170 multiple-choice questions on the second part. You will become familiar with the equipment at your testing station through a short, on-screen tutorial. You can take breaks as needed, but know that your time on break counts against your allotted testing time. If you do take a break during your exam, you cannot refer to any reference materials or use your mobile device.

The cost is $650.00 [$600.00 is remitted to the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), and $50.00 is remitted to the Board as a non-refundable administrative fee]. There is also an additional test administration fee that must be paid to Pearson Vue when scheduling an appointment.
While such research is inherently risky and requires strict oversight, the risk of not doing this type of research and not being prepared for the next pandemic is also high. While ePPP research is a type of so called “gain-of-function” (GOF) research, the vast majority of GOF research does not involve ePPP and falls outside the scope of oversight required for research involving ePPPs. A variety of organizations offer testing services and guides for the EPPP, and the ASPPB offers a guide book offering sample questions and summaries of EPPP content areas free of charge to download from its website. I found that the study guide provides a good, and balanced overview of what is included in the exam.
A commonly expressed sentiment among EPPP test takers has been that they outperformed their practice exam scores on the real EPPP. I will not venture a guess as to why this is the case but rest assured that I (and many before me) did worse on practice exams than on the actual EPPP.
