PICK UP FROM SCHOOL
At Leapstart, we take great pride in the reliability and trustworthiness of our pickup services. Unlike other after-school programs that outsource pickups to cab companies, our dedicated staff personally picks up each child from school. We further ensure that children are brought directly to our centers without any additional schools added to the pickup route, providing peace of mind for parents. We understand the importance of keeping our parents informed, so as soon as your child is picked up, we send you a text notification. Our pickup services have been serving the Cupertino community since 2013, and we look forward to continuing to provide this valuable service to our families. We serve all CUSD schools. See list of schools here. If you don't see your child's school listed here, pl. make sure to ask us when you book a call.
FRESHLY COOKED HOT MEALS
At Leapstart, we understand the importance of providing children with a hot, nutritious meal after a long day at school. That's why our after-school program includes a daily hot meal, freshly prepared by our staff and served to children immediately upon their arrival at our centers. We believe that a well-nourished child is a happy and healthy child, and we take pride in our commitment to providing the best possible meal options for our students. The menu for each month is carefully planned in advance and shared with parents, so they can rest assured that their child is receiving a balanced and delicious meal every day. In addition to our hot meal, we also provide an afternoon snack, ensuring that our students have the energy they need to make the most of their after-school activities.
HOMEWORK HELP & ACADEMICS
At Leapstart, we understand the importance of providing a structured and supportive environment for children to complete their homework and academic tasks. That's why we have dedicated homework time built into our After School Program, Monday through Thursday, where children spend one hour focusing on their homework and academic progress under the guidance of our experienced staff. Our staff not only ensures that homework is completed, but also provides individualized support and assistance where needed to help children succeed in their studies. This not only helps children stay on top of their academic responsibilities, but also allows parents to have more quality time with their children and focus on other activities outside of school. Additionally, our staff also communicates with parents on a regular basis to update them on their child's academic progress and any areas of concern.
FREE ENRICHMENT CLASSES
At Leapstart, we understand the importance of providing children with a structured routine to help them channel their energy in a productive way. That's why we offer a variety of enrichment classes throughout the week, from Monday to Friday, covering a range of beginner to advanced level skills. These classes are included in our program fee and enrollment is at the discretion of the parents.
In addition to the free classes, we also offer a selection of paid programs such as Chess, Lego Robotics, Basketball, and Arts classes. These paid classes are taught by experienced vendors who come to our centers to lead the classes you enroll your child in. This allows parents to avoid the hassle of driving their children to separate places for different activities.
The school of life curriculum
At Leapstart, we understand the importance of teaching children vital life skills that will serve them well in the future. Our Life School curriculum focuses on developing key skills such as social and emotional, time and money, healthy habits, and effective communication. These skills are often overlooked in traditional education and at home, but are crucial for children's development. Our unique curriculum is designed to engage children in a fun and interactive way, allowing them to internalize the lessons taught through games and activities. By mimicking real-life scenarios, children gain a deeper understanding of desired behaviors and are encouraged to practice them, setting them up for success in the future.
Through interactive activities and games, children learn the importance of sharing, cooperation, active listening, gratitude, responsibility, respect, manners, empathy, patience, leadership, ethics, honesty, a positive attitude, handling criticism, and more. These skills will serve them well throughout their lives and help them build strong, lasting friendships.
Through interactive activities and games, children learn the importance of delayed gratification, generosity and helping others, time management and reliability, and money management. We also teach children to recognize money denominations and count money correctly, laying the foundation for important financial skills in the future.
Through interactive activities and games, children at a young age learn the importance of taking care of their bodies and making healthy choices. This includes personal hygiene, healthy eating habits, and regular physical activity. These fundamental lessons will help children establish positive habits early on, setting them up for a lifetime of health and well-being.
Through interactive activities and games, children learn the importance of effective communication skills such as maintaining eye contact, active listening, using a respectful tone and language, having an open mind and kind heart, practicing patience and clear thinking, and choosing the right words to articulate their thoughts and expectations. These essential communication skills will serve them well in all areas of their lives.
