There are 25 Vermont school nurses who have earned the NCSN credential by successfully completing the national certification exam. Prior to coming to Alverno, Van Eerden served in a number of roles including public health nurse for the City of Milwaukee Public Health Department and as a primary care nurse. In her role at Alverno, Van Eerden and her students helped Hales Corners Lutheran Elementary School and Atwater and Lake Bluff Elementary Schools in Shorewood implement the Wisconsin Asthma Coalition (WAC) school walk-through program. The program is designed to increase school attendance by reducing environmental asthma triggers found within school buildings, assessing each classroom for identifiable environmental asthma triggers and creating positive, low or no cost changes to the schools. The NCSN credential reflects a high level of competence and professionalism, and the registered nurse must demonstrate a commensurate education, clinical practice experience and knowledge.
Appeals related to technical issues incurred during the examination process should be immediately addressed to PSI for investigation of the testing center and computer issues. All other appeals or challenges are to be submitted in writing, and addressed to the NBCSN President within 30 days of the denial or receipt of the examination results, citing all of the reasons for the appeal or challenge. An individual may appeal a failed examination due to technical issues or denial of recertification.
School nurses who do not meet current eligibility requirements will fail the audit and be charged a $75.00 failed audit fee. The exam is administered on behalf of NBCSN by PSI, a testing-provider with locations across the U.S. The National Certification Examination for School Nurses is offered periodically. The exam is given in a computer-based format at testing centers across the United States. The entire testing fee is forfeited for candidates who are more than 15 minutes late for a test appointment or who fail to appear for an appointment. NCSNs are always current in their practice, methodologies and medications. They are required to renew their credential every five years to establish their expertise.

The Nationally Certified School Nurse credential reflects competence and professionalism. To earn the NCSN a Registered Nurse must demonstrate a high level of education, clinical practice experience and knowledge. School nursing services are governed on the state level and are, therefore, subject to state requirements. Many states have specific and/or unique state certification or licensing requirements related to additional preparation beyond RN licensing and/or undergraduate educational degrees.
Our framework allows flexible model architectures, requires no sampling during training or the use of adversarial methods, and provides a learning objective that can be used for principled model comparisons. Our models produce samples comparable to GANs on MNIST, CelebA and CIFAR-10 datasets, achieving a new state-of-the-art inception score of 8.87 on CIFAR-10. Additionally, we demonstrate that our models learn effective representations via image inpainting experiments.
