The CNM certification is valid for five years before recertification is required. There are two main ways to go about renewing your CNM certification. When you submit your CNM certification application, you’ll also need to submit a copy of your RN license as well. The director of the program you’ve graduated from will have to send a letter to AMCB to verify your identity and program completion. Applications are processed after this letter has been received. Official GED test results will be available right away on the students’ MyGED accounts.

Central New Mexico College

You may pay the processing fee for challenge exams offered in the Assessment Center at the Cashier’s Office or online at the CNM CPL Store. The Assessment Centers are open to all students who need to take placement exams, and/or entry and distance-learning exams. Keep in mind, this is the program that is completed after becoming a registered nurse. For someone who isn’t yet a nurse, the timeline for becoming a CNM could take anywhere from years since you’ll have to first complete an undergraduate nursing degree and become a registered nurse. You have to complete your certification exam within 24 months of graduating from your graduate program.

If transferring to gain a higher degree and a teaching license, a student should take the appropriate NES Essential Academic Skills Subtests. The level of practice measures entry-level midwifery practice as a beginning practitioner. The audience for the AMCB certification programs are successful graduates of an accredited educational program for nurse-midwives or midwives with a graduate degree. GED Cost – In New Mexico, the GED exam costs $20 per subtest or $80 for the entire battery. If students fail two retakes, they’ll have to wait for a 60-day period, after which the process repeats. New Mexico GED students were given 3 years to complete the entire GED exam, but this has now changed, and scores will keep their validity.
With the help of CNM, about 95 percent of CNM graduates get jobs related to their field of study. New Mexico’s Higher Education Department offers free HSE vouchers (both for the GED and HiSET) to qualifying students. If, for example, their lowest score is in Math, they must sign up for a Math prep class. If their lowest score in on Reading, they are required to register for the school’s Language Arts class. For example, students who pass the CLEP College Mathematics or CLEP College Algebra may be able to receive course credit at CNM.
Earn credit for language courses by taking and passing Avant Language Exams. CNM offers credit for several language exams offered through Avant. Please see the Avant Language Exams Policy below for more information on the exams offered and the number of credits you can earn for a specific exam.

Each station has signage with a map of the full path, information on wellness, and specific wellness tips. Stations also provide information on native and symbolic plants found along the path. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you will be prompted to complete and submit an Underage Permission Form in order to complete your online registration.

You should be notified by CNM email within 10 business days whether or not a challenge exam will be developed. Appointments for blended/hybrid courses and/or make-up testing are now scheduled via RegisterBlast. The Accuplacer is for students who need to place into a course that is not listed below.
The first few weeks of the term are preferable, as the department’s staffing needs are determined by anticipated testing volume. The Accuplacer and the Directed Self-Placement (DSP) are available if you do not have any of the items listed below. They are not pass/fail assessments and are only used to determine which classes you are eligible to take. Preparing for and doing well on the Accuplacer can save you time and money by testing into higher-level classes. Challenge Exams Offered in the Academic School

We will review the cover sheets, contact you if any clarifications or changes are needed, and will then enter it into RegisterBlast on your behalf. It will then be posted and made available on the RegisterBlast student site so students will be able to schedule their tests. A class roster (in Excel) must also be submitted before students will be able to schedule their first test. AMCB automatically enrolls all certification holders in their Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP). The CMP is designed to help individuals keep their certifications active.
Accommodated testing is available through Accessibility Services. All tests or assessments are available in person unless indicated otherwise. DNA results are emailed within 5 business days, once all samples are received at the laboratory. Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM) is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder.

Assessment Scores

The CLEP exam allows individuals who have acquired knowledge outside the usual educational setting to earn college credit. Credit is granted only to students enrolled at CNM and who achieve passing scores, as listed on this page. Coordinated Entry Programs (CEP), such as the Nursing AAS, NMNEC and the Nursing LPN to RN Mobility Option, may have additional entry requirements.
It is, however, not possible to combine HiSET and GED scores or different language results. Students either take the GED or the HiSET exam and can do so in one language only. The CLEP exam fee is $89.00 and must be purchased online with a credit or debit card. On the day of the exam you will be charged a $25.00 non-refundable CNM administrative fee payable at the Cashier’s Office or online through the CPL store. Students may request for a challenge exam to be developed when one does not already exist. Make sure to review the restrictions before submitting your request. Please note that if your request is approved, you will be responsible for paying the non-refundable fee of $25.00 at the Cashier’s Office. Students who wish to take one of the following challenge exams do not need prior approval to take them.
