As per HTTP APIs, you can publish contracts and verification results to a Broker. From a Pact testing point of view, Pact takes the place of the intermediary and confirms whether or not the consumer is able to handle a request. Pact now has experimental support for these use cases, by abstracting away the protocol and focussing on the messages passing between them.
Consider if it’s really important to you before you do add a Pact test for each and every variation however. Remember that each interaction comes with a “cost” of maintenance and execution time, and you need to consider if it is worth the cost in your particular situation. You may be better off handling the common scenarios in the pact, and then writing your consumer to code to gracefully handle unexpected variations (eg. by ignoring that data and raising an alert).
The best way to use Pact on the consumer side is to focus the tests on just the code that makes the HTTP request, and bypass as much of the framework specific code as possible.
