TExES PACT test or the “Pre-Admission Content Test” is an exam that you need to pass to get admission into a few post-baccalaureate educator preparation programs (EPPs) in Texas. Before you create your study plan, begin by reviewing the exam outline. The exam outlines list the topics that will be covered on the exams and can help you identify the areas you’ll want to study. You’ll also want to consider the percentage

Finally, remember that this test still isn’t as good as an official practice test, so only take it once you’ve exhausted all official ACT resources. There is currently one full-length official ACT available for free online, in two different formats. Another probable reason is that, because ACT, Inc. already provides test takers with many materials for the ACT, there’d be no point in making separate PreACT resources. Most importantly, however, prepping for the PreACT is simply a great way to familiarize yourself with the ACT.

A reflective essay includes an analysis of the candidate’s score report, identification of competencies where the candidate needs additional study, and identification of needed resources to address those competencies. An action plan is the candidate’s plan for mastering the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the reflective essay. It should include resources, a schedule/timeline, and benchmarks/standards for measuring progress. The candidate should develop a reflective essay and action plan in conjunction with the faculty mentor/chair. A learning log should be used to document the number of completed hours of remediation. Since you can take this test anytime, make sure to carve out at least four hours for it (i.e., the approximate length of the ACT). Also, try to take it in the morning, as most schools administer the PreACT during the first half of the school day. In addition, remember that since these are ACT practice tests—not PreACT tests—you can expect there to be more questions that are a little harder than what you’ll see on the PreACT. Work your way back as you finish the tested essential topics and subtopics in the upcoming days. Leave the final week for a comprehensive revisit to every area covered thus far. Some, including the English Language Arts test, are offered only in specific administration windows. Out-of-state educators applying for certification in Texas must have their credentials reviewed by the TEA (Texas Education Agency). An actual ACT Mathematics Test contains 60 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
